This whole program fits really well together. Bach gives us an expression of universality based on a sublime optimism believing  to the end that the human spirit would rise above all.  Tailleferre – a  much more individualist expression but using all the devices Bach left us to lift us out of our troubles into lightness, joy, happeiness despite all. Then the  Borodin:  somehow in sharing the story of his own personal love life Borodin brings us together with music that touches the romantic in us all , reminding us what it is to love, showus the beautiy that happens when we all do our best and care for each other.  It’s all great music.
